51st Annual Student Research and Creativity Conference | The 51st Annual Student Research and Creativity Conference deadline for submission is March 3! Undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines can present their research and creative works in paper, poster, performance, and art display categories. This university conference is an opportunity for students to gain valuable presentation experience and feedback on their work from faculty members across many disciplines. There is a complimentary awards banquet for participants and two guests in the evening, where category winners are announced and given a cash prize. Please visit enmu.edu/SRCC for more information.
Call for Proposals-Grant Applications | Internal Faculty Research and Instructional Development Grant Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
The deadline for receiving applications is the last Friday of March: Friday, March 28, 2025.
Eligible Faculty:
- Faculty eligible for internal grants are tenured or faculty in tenure-track positions and hold terminal degrees in their discipline.
- Faculty hired into a tenure-track position as ABD (“All But Dissertation”) who expect to complete their terminal degree within one year are also eligible to apply.
- Non-tenure track faculty are welcome to submit applications.

Athletics Recap (highlight of last week’s wins):
- What an excellent weekend for Men's and Women's Basketball. Both teams swept Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State. These huge wins help position both the men's and women's teams in a position to make a run at the Lone Star Conference Basketball tournament.
- Softball won three of four this weekend, splitting with Texas A&M International and sweeping Texas A&M Kingsville in a doubleheader for the first time since 2007.

ENMU Ruidoso Recovery Fund
ENMU Ruidoso has set up a recovery fund for ENMU-Ruidoso Staff, Faculty, and Students. All proceeds from this fund will be used exclusively to assist ENMU-Ruidoso staff, faculty, and students directly with expenses involved in the recovery and relocation after the June 2024 South Fork and Salt fires and resulting floods. Student and Faculty Highlight (Trumpet Ensemble) | Congratulations to the ENMU Trumpet Ensemble (Natalie Begaye, Jared Fishburn, Zane Gassman, Landon Jordan, Marcos Lopez, and Ignacio Perez; Dr. Sidney Shuler, director) on its selection as a finalist for the upcoming National Trumpet Competition. In addition to the Trumpet Ensemble, Marcos Lopez was selected as a finalist for the solo competition. The 33rd Annual National Trumpet Competition will take place from March 13–16, 2025, at Texas Christian University. Thank you to Dr. Shuler and our students for their hard work and dedication!

Please also note that a judge from the Eastern District of Kentucky Court recently struck down the 2024 Title IX regulations nationwide, reverting enforcement back to the 2020 Title IX regulations for all institutions.
