University Theatre Center Venue

Productions on the University Theatre Center's mainstage are generally family-friendly performances in a traditional theater environment. It is also host to a series of other University and community events. The mainstage theatre seats roughly 400 people. Productions in this space allow the audience the traditional theater experience with a proscenium arch and large stage, often elaborate sets, lighting and costumes.

Productions in the University Theatre Center's studio theatre are often edgy, emotionally charged performances on either a thrust stage, which places the audience on three sides of the performance, or an arena stage, which places the audience on all four sides of the performance. The studio theatre is an intimate space that seats between 100 and 120 people allowing the audience to be drawn into the actor's world.
