Distance Learning Online Faculty Fellows Presentation | Friday, April 4 | 12 p.m. | Golden Student Success Center, Room 217 | Michelle Hughes, Online Faculty Fellow, will present "Effectively Teaching Science Labs Online"
As higher education shifts to digital learning, teaching college science labs online presents both challenges and opportunities. Educators must use innovative strategies to provide hands-on learning experiences without a physical lab. Key approaches include virtual labs, simulations, video demonstrations, and interactive tools to engage students and replicate experiments. Real-time discussions and collaborative platforms help foster active learning and peer interaction. Assessment methods must also evolve to measure both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. While online labs cannot fully replace in-person experiences, they offer a flexible, effective alternative for science education.
If you are looking for ideas for hands-on engagement in your online courses, this session is not to be missed.
