Dawg Days 2017 is almost here! The new student orientation's events are led by Dawg Days counselors.

1. Wesley Malcolm
Team: Yellow
Major: Health and physical education with an emphasis in health and wellness

Classification: Sophomore
When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2016. My favorite part was everyone welcoming me and making me feel like I was at home.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: The part I am looking forward to the most is welcoming the incoming freshmen and making them feel like how I felt as a freshman.
2. Sara Connelly
Team: Green
Major: Accounting
Classification: Senior
When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. I was a transfer student and extremely nervous. Dawg Days gave me the opportunity to meet other students. It also made me realize I wanted to be involved on campus.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: Meeting new Greyhounds!
3. Anna George

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2014. I loved it all, but I liked the parts where we got active. It helped me get excited for college, rather than just sitting around being nervous.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: My favorite part of being a counselor/captain is and always has been the freshmen. I love interacting with the freshmen; meeting them, getting to know them and welcoming them to the Greyhound family.
4. Catalina Arana

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. My favorite part was getting to know people that were in my group and had the same major as me. Also, getting to know the campus and the counselors made me feel confident and comfortable when I started classes.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I have always liked helping people the way I have been helped when I am in need, so, therefore, what I am excited about is being able to help the incoming Greyhounds with any questions they might have and being able to make ENMU their home away from home.
5. Thalia Pantoja

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. The community fair was my favorite part. I had so much fun seeing what all Eastern and Portales had to offer.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: Honestly, everything. I had such a blast as a counselor last year. This year as a captain, I am even more excited to meet new Greyhounds and help them get to know and love Eastern as I have.
6. Marisol Montaño

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. My favorite part was counselor time where I got to meet new people and make lots of friends.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I am most excited about getting to know the incoming students and showing them how great Eastern is and why I love it so much!
7. Joshua Alvarez Favela

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2014. My favorite part had to be the prep rally because it gets you excited for athletic events and it gives you a chance to make friends with people who also enjoy college sports.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I am very excited for all of Dawg Days because this is my last year being able to participate as a counselor. I have been a part of Dawg Days since coming in as a freshman, so I am definitely going to miss helping out the incoming class of Greyhounds. We are all one big family here at ENMU and Dawg Days will always be my favorite event of the year. Go Hounds!

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2016. I came from a small town and was shy, but Dawg Days helped break me out of my comfort zone.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I'm excited to meet new people and be able to help them in their transition to Eastern!
9. Kathryn Kincheloe

Major: English with a secondary licensure. I want to be a high school English teacher.

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. What I loved about my Dawg Days is that it gave my peers and myself unifying events we could attend together, which assisted building my first friendships.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I am most excited to give the incoming freshman an exhilarating first impression of ENMU and all we have to offer to their education and this next chapter in their lives.

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. My favorite part was meeting new people, as well as the competition among teams.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I'm most excited to welcome all the new students to our campus!
11. Sergio Uvalle

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2015. Foam Party was lit and I met people who later became my best friends there.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: Meeting new students from around the world and getting them to open up, just as my counselors did for me.
12. Briana Hodge

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2016. My favorite part was watching how open and comfortable everyone was. The bonding activities during Dawg Days led me to meet some of my best friends.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: Meeting all of my future fellow students and making them comfortable. This year is special for me because my sister is an incoming freshman, so I can't wait for her to experience Eastern.

When was your Dawg Days? What was your favorite part and why?: 2014. My favorite part was when I got to meet new people from different cities, states and even countries. It was awesome that the event was Lego-themed.
Which part of Dawg Days 2017 you are the most excited about and why?: I am mostly excited for the freshmen. They'll be playing the activities and socializing. I'm also excited for the stand-up comedian.
