"We are excited to have Barbara on board with us," said Waggoner. "Her high energy and enthusiasm, combined with her extensive professional experience, will be an asset to Greyhound athletics for years to come. Barbara is a good fit for us, as well as the Portales community."

With a student staff to manage, Baker was able to plan, manage, and implement numerous fundraisers for the college's athletic department, alumni association and foundation. She also represented the school in several local and statewide organizations, and served as an adjunct faculty member.
For the Plainsmen athletic department, Baker created publications and advertisements, handled photographic responsibilities, and managed all promotions.
Prior to the marketing position, Baker served as the college's director of admissions and student recruitment coordinator. She oversaw a staff of four, which had specific territorial recruitment assignments and handled speaking engagements at high schools and large venues. Baker oversaw visitation days, which drew an average of 600 student visitors per year, in addition to more than 300 individual visits per year.
