Candace Baros

An employee who goes above and beyond to ensure that the highest standard has been surpassed and never settles for the bare minimum is an employee with great dedication to the University.  This recipient is responsible for not only managing all aspects of her assigned department but for coordinating all of the presidential events. She consistently supports her fellow staff members and the students who work in her area.  She ensures that all her student workers are the best that they can be, from providing them guidance on how to excel with customer service to guaranteeing that everyone who comes to Eastern will be treated properly.  2017 Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mrs. Candy Baros.

Cruz Parra

This recipient exemplifies what all ENMU employees should strive to be: kind, considerate, friendly, and helpful. No matter what personal issues arise, she never lets them interfere with her work ethic and the positive attitude that she brings to the University.  She extends a hearty hello and a smile to anyone she comes across. All who meet and know this recipient have incredible respect for the person she is and for the work she does. She displays pride in her job, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. 2017 Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mrs. Cruz Parra.

Charles Reader

Known as the King of Helpfulness, no request is too big or too small for him.  He is a person who bends over backwards to ensure that students get the help they need. This recipient is being recognized for his commitment to the educational and social success of ENMU. Passionate about a cause, he works tirelessly for the greater good and inspires others to become involved in their community, as he is.  Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mr. Charles Reader.

Terri Doerr

It's not every day that you have an employee who splits her time between two different departments on campus and enjoys it. This recipient demonstrates hard work and a sense of caring for Eastern. She finds enjoyment in empowering young people seeking a better life through education by donating to the fundraising efforts of many of Eastern's student organizations.  This recipient is always willing to lend a helping hand no matter where she is.  Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mrs. Terri Doerr.

Darin Fike

The saying that "You never stop learning" is certainly true of this recipient who is constantly adding to his job knowledge.  He is always willing to learn new things in order to help the University reduce costs while still providing a good environment for our students.  He manages a large group of employees who make a noticeable difference in our campus buildings, and he does it well.  Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mr. Daren Fike.

Cody Spitz

In recognition of enduring vision, creativity, and enormous contributions to ENMU, this recipient provides mentoring, professional development and opportunities for leadership for his subordinates and student employees to make sure his staff is always prepared. He is driven to help students, is always available to assist coworkers and supervisors, and shares his genuine desire to see Eastern students succeed.   Spirit of Eastern awardee, Mr. Cody Spitz.
