It is great to be a Greyhound! Whether you are considering attending Eastern New Mexico University or are already a Greyhound Grad, let me remind you of the reasons why you picked (or should pick) ENMU:
Cost of Tuition
ENMU is one of the most affordable universities in New Mexico. According to the ENMU website, ENMU is in the top 10 percent lowest tuition of 81 public Southwestern institutions.
The in-state tuition for one year is $4,588 compared to the University of New Mexico, which is $21,844. Texas students who reside within a 135-mile radius also qualify for Eastern's in-state tuition rate.
Community
The tight-knit community at ENMU is exceptional. The relationship between professors and students at Eastern is much better than at larger universities, where there can be 200 students within a class. The student and faculty ratio here is 17:1.
Student organizations at ENMU serve as a means to student life and involvement within the Greyhound community. There are over 50 registered student organizations on campus and, interestingly enough, the Office of Campus Life allows any student to create a club or an organization that does not already exist. Student involvement is part of ENMU's mission to increase and encourage academic success.
Scholarships Funds
ENMU has plenty of alumni and generous donors that give back to the Greyhound community. Opportunities that provide financial support for students are a big plus.
The ENMU mission is highly valued by the Board of Directors of the ENMU Foundation, and they work hard to establish financial support to its students. "Every year, the ENMU Foundation awards over $400,000 in scholarships to ENMU students." To find more information about scholarships, visit: www.enmu.edu/Foundation
Online Degrees
Eastern offers a wide variety of degrees that are available online. According to the National Center of Education Statistics Navigator, ENMU was ranked 14th for accredited online nursing degree for $10,000 or less.
The ENMU website informs students that, "With over 30 available online degree options, you can learn from the best in everything from business and education to nursing and information systems." Learn more about ENMU's online degree programs >
Dual Enrollment
Eastern works remarkably well with public schools for dual enrollment courses. The University offers dual credit courses at every campus, from Ruidoso to Roswell to Portales (main campus). This includes online courses.
This is a huge opportunity to start working toward your degree while you are still in high school. First-time freshmen at ENMU often come with their general education under their belt. Learn more about dual enrollment.
