Marc Schoder graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 2008 with his Bachelor’s in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. Schoder started his own public relations firm called Schoder Media. The firm specializes in media relations, integrated communications, e-commerce, and social media. After starting his company, he returned to ENMU and received his Master’s in communications. Schoder was inspired to start his own PR Company because he enjoyed being able to work for himself. Learning to be consistent with his work and business is an important aspect of his career.
Eastern was a place where Schoder could continue his pursuit of lifelong learning. He was a non-traditional student at ENMU, and although Schoder had to overcome hardships while in school, he was given the support and space to learn and grow. “One of the things that Eastern taught me is to always keep learning,” Schoder said. Dr. Patricia Dobson was one of the professors who encouraged Marc to get his master's degree. He enjoyed that he was able to create real connections with his professors and fellow peers, which has translated well into his career.
Marc works with people from all over the U.S., and although most of his client base is based outside of New Mexico, he can still help clients in the state. Schoder loves watching his clients succeed and gets a great amount of satisfaction from his job. Marc believes that in order for his business to succeed it needs to evolve and adapt, especially with how fast technology changes. Beyond owning his own successful business, Marc also dreams of possibly returning to Eastern in order to give back to the school that started it all for him. Marc has owned Schoder Media since 2008 and has been able to successfully run and grow his business.
