Iziah Hall is a sophomore at Eastern New Mexico University majoring in physical education with an emphasis in health and wellness.
"I chose this field of study because I have liked sports since I was a kid, and I want to have a career involving sports," Iziah states.
With this degree, he hopes to become a personal trainer or position trainer. He says, "I want to help others achieve goals and reach their best and be a mentor to younger kids and teach them properly."
The sophomore has been on the Dean's List for two semesters and is a recipient of the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship. He is also a tutor through TRIO Student Support Services, which is an educational outreach program that assists undergraduate students.
"I chose ENMU because I came on a high school visit, and I really liked the campus. I also liked the courses they had to offer," he shares.
Iziah says his favorite part about being a Greyhound is getting a student discount at different restaurants in Portales.
"My favorite place at ENMU is the arena and the Max Pac because I like to play basketball and workout with friends," says Iziah, who plays on football, basketball and softball intramural teams on campus.
He acknowledges David Bartl, a languages and literature resource faculty member, as having a big influence on his education while at ENMU.
"Freshman Seminar" has been Iziah's favorite course at Eastern because it taught him how to use blackboard and about the resources offered at ENMU.
Iziah offers advice to students in his degree field: "Make sure you get your textbooks before it is too late and study hard."
The Greyhound was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has one full sibling and seven half-siblings.
