Portales, NM – Oct. 10, 2023 – Eastern New Mexico University welcomes back alumni, friends, and family members for the 89th Homecoming celebration on Oct. 16-21. This year's theme is “Wild, Wild, Eastern,” which is a call back to the university's Southwestern roots.
“If you miss your Greyhound family or want to reconnect with classmates, this is your week! Homecoming week is packed with activities, and I would love to see our alumni return to experience all the great things happening at ENMU,” said James Johnston, ENMU Chancellor. “Homecoming is not just for alums; I hope the community will also enjoy the fun!”
Twenty-seven in-person or online events and programs line the University calendar for Homecoming week, including:
- The 32nd Annual Song Fest on Monday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Campus Union Ballroom
- The 7th Annual Powderpuff Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium
- Online virtual bingo with ENMU Chancellor Dr. James Johnston on Wednesday, Oct. 18 @ 6 p.m.
- The President’s BBQ and the ENMU annual Bonfire and Pep Rally, all at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena on Friday, Oct. 20, starting at 4:30 p.m.
- The Alumni Mix and Mingle at Enchantment Vineyards on Friday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m.
- The annual Homecoming parade on US Highway 70 on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m.
- The Homecoming tailgate at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m.
- The Homecoming football game vs. Texas A&M Kingsville on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m.
