PORTALES, NM – April 13, 2023 – Eastern New Mexico University's Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking is proud to present "Language of Angels," written by Naomi Iizuka and directed by Anne Beck.
Written in 2003, "Language of Angels" tells the story of a young girl who goes missing in the cave country of North Carolina and explores the aftermath of the disappearance of those left behind. Each character seeks an explanation of what happened on that fateful day.
The play's runtime is 70 minutes and features ENMU students: Ronin Stewart, Eva Cotton, Theresa Rohe, Israel Stacy, Liam Hurley, Micaela Vigil, Chloe Earp, and Ethan Trujillo in the cast.
"It's amazing to see how in so little time, so many things can change," Michaela Vigil said. "I'm glad our cast and crew can share such a story with the audience."
"Language of Angels" premieres on April 20 and runs through April 23, with nightly shows Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday. All performances are in the University Theatre Center's Studio Theatre. General admission is $10 per ticket, with senior citizens and active military duty tickets priced at $7. Tickets can be purchased in advance at ENMU.edu/TheatreLive. Due to content and language, this show is not appropriate for younger and more sensitive audiences.
