Lees, a 1952 ENMU graduate, began working at ENMU in 1956 as an assistant coach and physical education instructor. He 41-year career at ENMU included coaching football, baseball, golf, tennis and track, and being athletic director.

He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame and one of just two ENMU representatives in the Lone Star Conference Hall of Honors (along with volleyball and basketball player Jennifer Goble Poyer).

<p">His son Jay Lees said, "We consider the memorial service a celebration of B.B.'s life where old and new friends can gather and share good memories."

His son John Lees said, "B.B. would be pleased to know that friends are gathering, telling stories, and enjoying each other. That is the type of thing B.B. enjoyed doing. We want to honor that good, fun, nature of our Dad."
