Former ENMU Instructor Dr. Dale Shank Passes Away from the Kokomo (Indiana) Tribune

Dale was a 1972 graduate of Camp Point Central High School in Camp Point, Illinois. He served with the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976. Dale then earned his bachelor's in social work from Eastern New Mexico University. He continued with his master's in social work from New Mexico Highlands University, and completed his doctorate in clinical social work from Capella University.

Dale was a mental health therapist for 10 years. He especially enjoyed working with children. He served as an instructor at Eastern New Mexico University, where he was very well thought of and went out of his way to help his students. Dale retired as chief of the Clayton, Illinois, Police Department after a 27 year career in law enforcement.

Dale was a fire arms enthusiast and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was active in the Masonic Lodge. Dale was also a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He loved gardening, canning vegetables, and working in his yard. Dale will be remembered as being a very kind, loving and helpful man. His family was everything to him.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Amy M. Shank, Kokomo; sister, Terry (Sherman) Meyer, Camp Point, Illinois; daughter, Jade Munsey (A.J. Turrill), Kokomo; and father and mother-in-law, Rick and Linda Martin.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Logan Munsey.

Dale's family is planning a private gathering to share their memories.
