Rogers Earns Two Wins as Diamond Hounds Sweep Conference Doubleheader
PORTALES, NM - Freshman pitcher Kaylee Rogers and the Eastern New Mexico University softball team overcame windy conditions and a five-run deficit on the way to a doubleheader sweep of University of Texas of the Permian Basin (5-27; LSC 2-12). The Greyhounds (15-24; LSC 8-9) snapped a 10-game skid with an 8-0 win in the opener, and followed with a 10-5 victory in the nightcap. Rogers allowed just one earned run over 11.2 innings of play and fanned six batters.

PORTALES, NM - For the second straight game, the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (16-24; LSC 9-9) overcame a first-inning three-run homer, and exploded past University of Texas of the Permian Basin (5-28; LSC 2-13). The Hounds pounded out five extra-base hits in a six-run fourth inning, en-route to a 13-4 victory, Saturday at Greyhound Field. Junior first baseman Erikka Burke homered twice and drove in three runs, while Kaylee Rogers notched her 12th win of the season.
Gryschka and Lloyd Lead Greyhound Track & Field at Bobby Lane Invite
ARLINGTON, TEXAS - The Eastern New Mexico University track & field teams registered another strong performance on Saturday, competing at the University of Texas-Arlington Bobby Lane Invitational. Melina Gryschka, Kenneth Lloyd, Augustus Swanson, and the men's 4x100m relay team posted provisionally qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships.

PORTALES, NM - After a strong performance against University of Texas of the Permian Basin, last weekend, the Eastern New Mexico University softball team will hit the road. This weekend, ENMU will face Texas A&M-Commerce in a three-game Lone Star Conference series.
Lewis Leads Men's Rodeo Team at Ranger College
RANGER, TEXAS - Jacob Lewis split second and third place in the saddle bronc riding to lead the Eastern New Mexico University men's rodeo team to a seventh-place finish at the Ranger College Rodeo, last weekend. Laney Elkins paced the women's team with a second-place finish in the first round of the goat tying.
Connor and Hughes Chosen as Academic Athletes of the Year for Basketball
PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico University Athletic Director Dr. Greg Waggoner has announced the list of the 2016-17 Academic Athletes of the Year for the winter season. Both basketball teams were represented. Both athletes contributed to their respective programs, both in competition and in the classroom.
