The Forgotten Pokémon

Maractus: When looking through the Pokedex, this cactus creature made me do a double-take. Wait, is that really a Pokémon? Wasn’t Cacturne, a more popular cactus from a previous generation, enough? How many cacti can there be?

Finneon/Basculin/Tynamo: There are a lot of fish in the sea, so it makes sense that at least some types wouldn’t stand out. These fish can’t compete with infamously useless Magikarp or even lesser known picks, like Feebas or Relicanth.

Ducklett: Psyduck rose to fame as when its spacey antics were featured regularly in the anime. Ducklett ducked out of the spotlight due to its more well-known predecessor.

Bouffalant: Even a rocking afro can’t save this Tauros look-alike from fading into the background.

Bergmite/Avalugg: This chunk of ice has melted from my memory. Thanks global warming. Also, I’m pretty sure I never saw its evolution, Avalugg, until I looked for more information about Bergmite. If somebody had shown me a picture of it before today, I would have denied it was Pokémon.

Mothim: Nice try, Venomoth rip-off. You have blended with your environment so well that you will never have to worry about a trainer trying to catch you.

Tyrogue: I usually love baby Pokemon, but this one is so bland that even its status as a pre-evolution can’t save him from being forgotten.

Chatot: Repeat after me, Chatot is real. Chatot is real, squak! Despite having an action figure of the parrot creature, it’s lost from my memory like Paulie.
