The Office of Tutoring at Eastern New Mexico University is a peer tutoring program that serves the students and faculty of ENMU. The tutors, who are trained and have excelled in their fields, conduct individual and group sessions. Their primary goals are to facilitate student success and to resolve immediate academic crises. To this end, the tutors are committed to acknowledging and respecting faculty expertise, being student role models and fulfilling the requirements for tutor certification established by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
Tutoring is provided in Mathematics, Statistics, English, Biology, Chemistry and many other academic disciplines. Tutoring sessions by appointment are recommended although walk-in requests are available.
We are located in "The Alley" by Ground Zero in the basement of the Campus Union. To schedule an appointment go to the online scheduling system. For online tutoring, please let us know what method of communication you would prefer.
The Intervention Specialist located in "The Alley" provides services to students who are experiencing "academic trauma". Faculty and staff may refer the students to the Intervention Specialist for needs assessment, to identify available resources, to identify student academic assets, thus enabling the student to continue with his or her academic goals and career.
If a student determines that withdrawing completely from the University is the only recourse, the Intervention Specialist provides assistance to complete the process.
A student may completely withdraw from the University by the deadline published in the semester schedule of classes. Full-time students must complete a university withdrawal procedure starting at the Office of the Registrar. Part-time college students may withdraw at the Office of the Registrar.
