Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

Applications Accepted for Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship - Applications are being accepted for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, a prestigious national scholarship open to sophomores and juniors in engineering, the natural sciences and mathematics.

This competitive scholarship grants up to $7,500 (per year, based on need) to awardees for up to two years. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, natural or permanent resident. Additional information, application materials and specific awardee disciplines may be found at: www.act.org/goldwater.

Initial application deadline for institutional review is Dec. 12, 2011; completed application deadline at the Goldwater Foundation is Jan. 30, 2012. However, the applicant is well advised to start the process early.

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in the U.S. Senate.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.
