Natural History Museum

Coiled rattlesnakeThe Natural History Museum is affiliated with the Department of Biology at Eastern New Mexico University. The purpose of the museum is to promote understanding of the diversity of life, emphasizing the natural heritage of eastern New Mexico and the greater Southwest.

Thousands of visitors each year enjoy the educational displays and programs offered by the museum. Of particular interest to visitors are the live native plants and animals on display.

Location

The Natural History Museum is located in Roosevelt Hall on South Avenue K adjacent to the Portales National Bank branch office. The museum is located at the main entrance on the first floor.

Hours of Operation

Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
The museum is closed on holidays.

Tours

Special tours of the Natural History Museum are available for school classes and other groups. Please call 575.562.2706 or 575.562.2307 to schedule a tour.
