Summer ESL Institute

ESLThe Summer ESL Institute is designed to help students get a head start on their studies at ENMU. It gives students a chance to brush up on their English skills immediately prior to the regular academic year. It also provides them with orientation to the University and to Portales.

Classes meet five days a week for two hours and fifteen minutes each. The two primary courses are:

  • Academic Listening and Speaking
  • Academic Reading and Writing

In addition, students spend two hours in the language lab each day.

The 2009 Summer ESL Institute was held from July 15–Aug. 11.

Schedule of classes
Summer 2009

  • 9-11:10 a.m.: Academic Listening and Speaking
  • 11:20 a.m.-12:10 p.m.: Listening and Speaking Lab
  • 2-4:10 p.m.: Academic Reading and Writing
  • 4:20-5:10 p.m.: Reading and Writing Lab

Classes were held Monday to Friday.
