Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Upward Bound, provide instruction and support for the Upward Bound summer program and their students. The final day to apply is March 31, 2014.

Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to excellence in teaching students of diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Job Requirements
Required to attend staff orientation on Thursday & Friday, May 29-30, 2014, and Parent/Student banquet on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
At least a college junior with a 3.0 GPA or accomplished in the elective area required.
Instructor must submit course syllabus before May 16, 2014.
Certified instructors preferred
Physical Demand and Working Conditions
Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Duties: Preparing lesson plans to educate students on either
Mathematics (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II/Geometry, and Pre-Calculus)
Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
English (ACT Reading & Grammar, Literature, College Writing)
Culture and Language of Chinese
Radio Broadcast (2 instructors for lecture/lab)
Mathematics and Science lesson plans have to meet the NMPED Standards
Maintain records and files in a secure and confidential manner
Instruct using evidence-based and interactive teaching techniques
Provide appropriate classroom management
