Job Type: Internship
Department: Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
Date Posted: 05/10/2013

Summary: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is a Southeast Regional Golf Tour and that was founded with the intention of providing junior golfers both boys and girls between the ages of 10 to18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The junior tour caters to four divisions: boys and girls 15-18 as well as boys and girls 11-14. Our vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. Over the past five seasons, the tour has grown exponentially and has become one of the premier choices when it comes to junior golf in the Southeast. Since being founded in 2008 the tour has grown from 300 members and 25 events to over 2,400 members and 64 events up to our past 2012 season. Due to the exponential growth, HJGT will be expanding to 5 new states: Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. With this expansion, the Tour has also been fortunate enough to embody many characteristics not normally seen in the junior golf industry. These characteristics range from corporate sponsorship deals and top tier golf course selection to an influential stake in the golfing community.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour offers a well-rounded internship for ambitious individuals looking to develop a wide variety of business skills. Marketing interns will be actively involved with all aspects of the tour from sales and marketing to sponsorships and website design under the supervision of HJGT staff members. The marketing internship will require minimum travel if any. Interns will spend majority of their time in the office preparing for upcoming tournaments and auditing past tournaments. Normal office hours are 8:30am-5pm, sometimes longer depending on the goals set at the beginning of the day. The internship here at Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will assist interns in preparing for a career in the business world.
