Job Summary: The role of the Math Coach is to increase student achievement by facilitating change in instructional practice. Coaches will provide support in the areas of planning, instructional strategies, assessment, evaluation, planning and implementation of the District curriculum in the specified content area of mathematics.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree or proof of equivalent college credits required. Doctoral degree preferred.
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
Five years successful teaching experience as evidenced by excellent evaluations
Experience working effectively with adults
Working knowledge of the AZ 2010 Standards appropriate to content area
Content Area Specialization
ELL Endorsement.

Duties: Serves as a liaison between the District and the school sites and advocates, supports and furthers the District vision, mission and goals.
Establishes positive, productive and trusting professional relations with co-workers, site and District administration and parents.
Assists in the analysis of data to identify site and/or District needs.
Provides coaching support to teachers in order to support colleagues in assessment, evaluation, planning and implementation of the District curriculum.
Supports the capacity of others to grow and engages them in developing plans for increasing knowledge and skills.
Facilitates staff development for staff related to content, data analysis, standards and instruction.
Participates in leadership opportunities outside of the school day.
Participates in District Professional Development to continue own learning and remain current on research and trends in education.
Assists in the coordination of parent development activities in order to help parents to understand their role in supporting learning of the curriculum.
Assists in the coordination of student intervention programs, to include Intersession and summer opportunities, to support student achievement.
Effectively utilizes District technologies appropriate to the position and assumes responsibility for attending District training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
Maintains necessary paperwork and documentation as required.
Assists in program evaluation.
Supports other sites as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
