Job Summary: The STEaM Enrichment Specialist is an endorsed teacher who works with students to implement Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEaM) integrated lessons in the classroom environment. The focus of the STEaM Enrichment Specialist is to develop student-centered activities which support classroom instructional goals aligned to the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards. The goal of the STEaM Enrichment Specialist is to ensure students master grade level standards and develop critical thinking skills utilizing scientifically based instruction strategies, which may include The Scientific Inquiry Model. While primarily serving as a teacher, the STEaM Enrichment Specialist will support other faculty members to integrate STEaM concepts into their classroom through collaboration and co-teaching.
Qualifications: Master degree in the area of education, preferred.
Arizona Teaching Certificate
Minimum of three years teaching, five years preferred.
Have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of STEaM principles
Remain current with research and development in STEaM related education
Interacts effectively with other departments, school personnel, other sites and contacts from outside of the district.
Models and encourages expected behaviors.
Possesses excellent interpersonal relations, communication skills and organizational ability.
Works both independently and collaboratively and is self-directed
Communicates clearly, both orally and written, to groups and individuals.
Possesses advanced technology skills, preferred (MS Office, Interactive Presentations, Data Base Applications, Web-Based Browsing, Social Media Skills, etc.).
Knowledgeable about state teaching standards, content, materials, and resources.
Effectively utilizes district technologies appropriate to the position and assumes responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform their job.
Duties: Develop relationships with staff, classroom teachers, administrators and district stakeholders to participate and contribute to school Professional Learning Communities
In cooperation with school administrator(s), disaggregate (analyze various types of data) and interpret data to measure and improve student achievement and program effectiveness.
Implement the use of research-based teaching strategies and best practices to address the needs of students and school goals.
Instruct students in STEaM related areas integrating Arizona College and Career Ready Standards utilizing District adopted or supplemental instructional materials.
Provide engaging, enriched STEaM related activities to increase interest, experience, expertise, and develop critical thinking skills.
Support school partnerships and activities with community members and families that enhance development of STEaM skills and habits.
Promote STEaM awareness and engagement through targeted partnerships and activities.
