Status: Full-time position
Location: Duchesne, UT
Job Summary: This position will entail conducting wildlife species and habitat surveys. Species surveyed for include sage-grouse, migratory birds, northern goshawk, woodpecker, snowshoe hare, owls, and white-tailed ptarmigan.
Qualifications: Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be able to backpack up to 12 miles per day carrying a 30-40 lb. backpack. The anticipated start date is May 19, 2014 with an expected end of season date of mid September 2014.
Duties: Surveys will require hiking/working outdoors independently and/or accompanied by the District Wildlife Biologist. Access to survey locations will be by four-wheel drive truck and backpacking. Two trips of 4-5 days into the High Uintas Wilderness to access high elevation basins for surveys will require backpacking.
