This position is being filled through the Direct Hire Authority for this occupation and is open to all US Citizens. Qualifications: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in planning, evaluating, advising, establishing and/or implementing information technology security policies, plans, programs and automated data processing operations.
Duties: Lead IT systems and data security activities within the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program.
Provide guidance and support to WTC Health Program leadership acting as the HIPAA Security Officer for the program, including recommendations for effectiveness and improvement.
Coordinate and align the security efforts in a manner that is congruent and supportive of Agency standards, policies and mandates.
Evaluate IT operational, technical and management controls to ensure they are appropriately maintained to meet information security requirements.
Ensure that security authorization support documentation is developed and maintained for applications and systems in a manner that mitigates risk and supports the compliance posture of the WTC Health Program.
Provides subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of IT security policies and procedures, monitors compliance with established IT security policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
