Job Summary: The Service Coordinator will improve communication access for individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind by planning, organizing and supervising investigations into communication barriers that are reported to the New Mexico Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The investigations and assessments will be in regards to service programs, and resolve communication barriers in a variety of settings.
Work is primarily done in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and phone usage. Extensive Statewide travel is done in state vehicles. All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are: Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences or Human Services and two (2) years of experience as a social worker or community coordinator and/or social worker assistant. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
