Status: Full-time position
Location: Santa Rosa and Tucumcari, NM
Job Summary: Perform routine accounting activities including payroll, human resources, accounts payable, reconciliations, benefits and insurance administration, billing and AR.
Qualifications: We are looking for someone from a business focus with strong accounting skills.
Duties: Prepare payroll tax reports/filings; stay current on changes in tax rules.
Compile and review payroll source documents, enter payroll data/payroll deductions into accounting system, maintain records, verify confidential payroll data. Experience with federal/state/city payroll regulations preferred.
Reconcile vendor statements monthly. Prepare periodic account reconciliations.
Respond to employee payroll/benefit inquiries.
Compile and prepare financial reports as needed utilizing QuickBooks and other sources.
Perform light administrative duties such as word processing, supply ordering, periodic customer communications/marketing mail outs, filing, and light phone work.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Quickbooks. Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills required. Previous bookkeeping/payroll experience preferred but willing to train. Ideal candidate will be a self-starter as this position works independently for a majority of the time.
