Job Summary: ASRC Federal Space and Defense (AS&D) brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and operations services to civil and defense agencies. ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.
Qualifications: Must have RF component level repair experience with phasing capability (Phase Modulation/PLLs).
Must have Digital component level repair experience.
Must have understanding of HP 7000 series Spectrum Analyzer Monitoring systems, with component level repair and testing experience.
Must have a familiarity with RF UpConverter, Modulators/Demodulators, Digital Receivers, and (TTL) Transistor-transistor logic / (ECL) Emitter-Coupled Logic technology.
Responds quickly and effectively during critical and emergency situations.
Under limited supervision, able to isolate hardware problems to the lowest practical level and return the system to full operational capability.
Ability to conduct or supervise the performance of equipment evaluation and testing.
Develop Engineering Changes (EC's), Local Operating Procedures (LOP's), and Preventive Maintenance Plans (PM's).
Ability to train and lead technicians in component repair.
Ability to coordinate the installation of equipment and / or replacement of parts and ensures all necessary adjustments to the system and chassis are made.
An Associate's degree and 6 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 3 years of additional related experience is allowable.
Secret Security Clearance must be obtained for continued employment.
Duties: As a Member of the White Sands Complex (WSC) Maintenance Team, the Field Engineering Specialist - Level II performs a variety of complex duties to support real-time spacecraft operations. Duties include but are not limited to
Providing Engineering and Maintenance support to the Australian TDRSS Facilities Telemetry and Command suite of equipment. Perform the role of subsystem specialist on the WSC Spectrum Analyzer Monitoring system, KSA/SSA/MA Baseband Switch, either identifying and resolving or leading others to identify and resolve subsystem problems which may impact the TDRS ground segment performance. Provide maintenance and maintenance oversight on the entire SGLT-7 System and Subsystems, which may include training, documentation support, Firmware/Software deliveries. Design equipment modification to correct deficiencies or to provide enhancements. Perform other system maintenance functions as assigned by the HMD Manager or Deputy.
This position is subject to weekend, holiday and overtime assignments.
