Find out more about living conditions at this duty station.The purpose of the Pathways Intern Employment Program is to provide the intern with exposure to public service, enhance educational experience, and support educational goals. The program is formally structured to give interns the opportunity to work in positions related to their academic/career goals. Participant completes assigned duties, tasks, readings, and developmental activities specified in the program. A written agreement is required between the Western Area Power Administration and the intern. Interns will be expected to work at least a Part-Time work schedule while attending school.
Within 120 calendar days after completing educational requirements, the employing agency may non-competitively promote and convert an intern to a career/career-conditional or term appointment. The conversion is not guaranteed and is based on the needs of the agency.

Qualifications: Must a U.S. Citizen
Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student
Must be taking at least half-time academic course load
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
Must be at least 16 years old

Duties: Assist IT staff in planning and reporting of assigned projects.
Assist users for desktop support of Western software applications and operating systems support.
Assist IT staff in creating and building Web pages for the Upper Great Plains Region's communication and coordination.
Tests and validates application software to ensure conformance with user requirements, performance specifications, system documentation, and ADP standards.
Assists IT staff in documenting procedures, processes, and systems for distribution or posting. This includes maintaining various databases.
Assists IT staff in all aspects of common government agency requirements.
