Job Summary: Aluminum Machining: Metal Cutting, Machine Design, Good Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills, Print Reading, GD&T, Flexible Manufacturing, CNC Programming, Fixture Design, Manufacturing Systems
Gear Machining: Helical Gear Machining (green and hard), Heat Treat Processes, Trouble Shooting, Automatic loading/unloading of Machine Tools, Statistics and Process Capability
Tooling: Speeds, Feeds, and Depth of Cut, Equipment to Facilitate Tool Management, Continuous Improvement in Cost, Productivity and Quality
Gauging: Metrology: Gauge Designs, CMM Systems, Gauge MSA's, Print Reading, GD&T, Data Collection, Statistical Analysis, Certification, Calibration, Sampling Plans
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology or equivalent
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team
Some experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Flexibility in work location, ability to travel, work overtime, and holidays when required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Individual must be a team player and willing to take a leadership role in project setting
Program assignment may require travel and/or relocation
Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Auto Cad)
Duties: Develop production processes aligned to standard Bill of Process strategies through system inquiry, simultaneous engineering, build, installation, and commissioning phases.
Emphasis on delivery and continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
Interface with Suppliers and Product Engineering
Responsible for equipment procurement
Run-off equipment per Ford Specifications at supplier and plant to validate capability and robustness including safety
Ensure production systems meet all objectives through R&M, Process Design and FMEA's
Develop plans for machine tryout parts (MTO) parts - cost, quantity, location of build, quality, etc.
Lead Simo Engineering with supplier and plant/staff
Support QS 9000 and ISO 14000, PPAP and APQP processes
Support appropriate Six Sigma projects
Interface with plant personnel with appropriate timing and installation documentation, to ensure efficient/timely installation and validation
Use Lessons learned to develop program studies and improve standard Bill of Processes
