Job Summary: Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM is looking for a full-time, qualified Physical Therapist.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. New Mexico License required. Less than one year experience is acceptable.
Requires detailed knowledge of Physical Therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data. This staff member must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
Ability to make decisions are varied but are usually confined to situations which are familiar. There are several defined alternative solutions available.
Ability to exercise choice in how work is accomplished with independence to operate within established policies, procedures and schedules.
Ability to walk, sit, stand, and lift.
Duties: Plans and evaluates patients’ treatment programs in coordination with medical staff. Administers and clarifies treatment program per physician instructions. Recommends solutions to patient care problems. Discusses and confers with interdisciplinary treatments teams on patient care and treatment plans.
Educates patients and family in proper care and use of various supports and exercise programs. Follows up with patients during treatment, explaining precautions to take.
Evaluates charts and reports on patients’ progress. Maintains patients’ records, charts, and discharge summaries.
Initiates charges to patients according to established procedures.
Recommends physical therapy policies and procedures concerning services provided. Assists other therapists in planning treatment programs.
Participates in performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control. Assists with data collection and prepares reports. Maintains patient statistics.
Conducts and participates in clinic educational programs.
As needed, takes call.
Performs other functions as required.
