Job Summary: Position is responsible for: Gathering news information and preparing for presentation in the newscast; Provide input to the show producer on show content and format; Writing stories, headlines and news updates for television, online and digital platforms; Expected to report from field, live shots, interviews, and package stories. Primary responsibility is to present newscasts to the viewer in a professional manner. Also will be responsible for the presentation of breaking news to viewers both during live newscasts as well as outside regularly scheduled newscasts.

Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree required.
• Must possess a minimum of 2 years television anchor/reporter experience.


Eligibility Requirements:

• Work overtime and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work at the station in Miramar location
• Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
• Must be 18 years or older

Desired:
• BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or Political Science preferred.
• General Assignment reporting skills preferred.
• Must have excellent writing skills as well as very strong speech skills.
• Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news.
• Strong live reporting skills. Able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines.
• Possess the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
