Adrienne Sena
Major: Business administration Hometown: Los Alamos, N.M.
When Eastern recruiters came calling, Adrienne Sena was ready to join the team.
The Zia volleyball player from Los Alamos chose ENMU over offers from Trinidad and Kansas Junior College.
Even before meeting her coach, she had a family connection in Portales—her brother Jake, an ENMU marketing major. “Having family close by was one of my main factors. I’m very family oriented, and being just four hours from home was just right.”
As a business major, Adrienne found that her professors cared about her as a student and a person. “What I loved about a small campus was the class size and how the teachers were never too busy to chat about anything that was on your mind.”
She especially appreciated Dr. Lee Weyant’s help with school and life. “When I found out I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, he was always making sure I was OK.”
After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2006, Adrienne took a job as a fiscal and budgeting analyst at Los Alamos National Laboratory, handling proposals for new projects. She is pursuing a master’s degree in business.
Her advice for students looking for a college home? “Remember, great things come in small packages, just as I have learned from attending ENMU.” |
