    We recently received this notification from the New Mexico Department of Health, and in the interests of transparency we'd like to share it with you. A student on the ENMU campus was diagnosed with chickenpox (varicella), while attending classes from Aug. 31-Sept. 2. While chickenpox is highly contagious, most people recover easily and quickly. If your student is unvaccinated or has a compromised immune system, you should talk to your student about getting vaccinated or taking extra precautions.
