The newest building on campus, the Communication Center, opened in 2006. It houses academic programs in the Department of Communication and the broadcast center for KENW-TV and KENW/KMTH-FM. Students have the opportunity to work at KENW, which is converting to new digital equipment.
In 2012, New Mexico voters approved $9 million in general obligation bond money to renovate ENMU's Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building. Construction is expected to begin in 2013.
