Eastern New Mexico University's Official Class Ring
... A world of meaning
"Each of you has left your mark during student days at Eastern. You made life-long friendships, chose wives and husbands, laid the foundation for a future life. Each of you gave something of yourself to the University and in turn the University gave something to you. These are ties that are not easily broken."
—Dr. Floyd Golden, from a Homecoming speech to students in October 1958. This passage appears in his book describing his experience as ENMU President, The Golden Years: 1928–1960.
Dear Alumni and Students,
Initial impressions are lasting memories. From the first view of the Administration Building as you enter campus or the Fountain, marking the heart of the campus - from the excitement of Dawg Days, to the sense of community - the road to graduation began with these unique Eastern New Mexico University memories. It may have seemed like just a moment in time, but it was a moment that was cause for celebration and, all too soon, a happy memory.
Education is an honor. ENMU graduates leave the campus symbolizing our best for an honorable future. They also embody the ENMU tradition of graduating men and women who are leaders and outstanding citizens.
In 2001, the Eastern New Mexico University Alumni Association revived a time-honored tradition – the Class Ring. As a constant reminder of the achievements and the University's rich heritage, we are proud to be able to offer you the opportunity to apply for The Official Eastern New Mexico University Ring.
Our ring evokes special memories of the occasions and traditions of Eastern: Songfest and bonfires at Homecoming, the school colors of Green and Silver, the friendly campus atmosphere, the school Fight Song, and our mascots the Greyhound and Zia.
Our ring is reserved exclusively for alumni and students who have completed at least 60 credit hours. Sponsored by the Eastern Alumni Association and designed by a group of students, alumni, staff and faculty, the ring will remain unchanged—a tangible connection to past, present and future.
While the other representation of achievement, the diploma, proudly takes its place on the wall, the ring is always on display with all its meaning. We urge you to look at the information provided and invite you to be a part of this program.
Sincerely,
Janice Cowen Coordinator of Alumni Affairs
The ring is custom-made in your choice of 10K, 14K or 18K solid white or yellow gold. Your initials, degree and class year are engraved on the ring. Each ring has a registration number engraved on it, which makes it easier to recover if lost.
