Keep germs from spreading
- Wash your hands often with soap and
water for at least 20 seconds (long
enough to sing "Happy Birthday" twice).
- When hand washing is not possible,
use antiseptic hand gels that
contain 60–95 percent alcohol.
- Use disinfectant spray to wipe down
your phone, keyboard, desk surfaces
and high-traffic areas each day.
- Stay at home when you are sick.
- Keep your children home from
school or day care when they are sick.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a
tissue when coughing and sneezing.
Throw the tissue in the nearest
wastebasket and wash your hands.
- If you don’t have a tissue, cough or
sneeze into the crook of your arm
instead of your hand so you won’t
get germs on your hands and
spread them to others.
- Stay at least three feet from people
who are coughing and sneezing.
- Wash your hands after contact with
an ill person or soiled materials
such as tissues.
- Ask for a mask if you go to ENMU
Health Services, the doctor’s office
or the emergency room when you are sick.
