For Women's History Month Hispanic Affairs has two amazing women coming to Eastern, Dr. Margaret Montoya and Ms. Kaitlyn Fishman.
The theme for Women's History Month is the sunflower! Be sure to attend these great presentations and others by the other departments of Multicultural Affairs!
Máscaras, Trenzas, y Greñas
Date: March 2
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Campus Union Building (CUB) Pecos Room
Description: Margaret Montoya, UNM law professor and Graduate from Harvard Law School, will explore stories in poetry and prose about assimilation and cultural differences in families and at work. The talk is an optimistic call for greater cultural pluralism. Co-sponsored with New Mexico Humanities Council.
Bone Marrow Drive
Date: March 3
Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Place: Campus Union Building (CUB) Sandia Room
Description: Kaitlyn Fishman, Account Executive at Be The Match operated by National Marrow Donor Program, will give a brief presentation on Bone Marrow Registry in efforts to raise awareness for Be The Match. The Bone Marrow Drive will take place afterwards.
César Chávez Blood Drive and Documentary
Date: March 30
Time: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Location: Campus Union Building (CUB) Ballroom
Description: Be a hero and donate blood! And while you are saving lives with the United Blood Services you can enjoy a César Chávez documentary to commemorate this inspirational leader in the Hispanic world!

Graduating Honoring Banquet
Date: April 24 (must RSVP by April 16; No Exceptions!!!)
Time: 6 p.m.
Place: Campus Union Building (CUB) Ballroom
Description: The Graduating Honoring Banquet honors the accomplishments of graduating students. President Dr. Gamble will also present each graduate with a sash of country of their origin. The theme for this year is "Argentina." Entertainment provided by a "Tango Group."
The banquet will feature a silent auction table with authentic cultural Hispanic items. All proceeds will go towards scholarships. ENMU Hispanic students are for Free. Faculty, staff, and community cost is $15 per person. Must RSVP by April 16 with payment. No exceptions!
