Eastern New Mexico University Celebrates Women's History Month

Portales, NM – February 28, 2024– Eastern New Mexico University announced today the events planned to celebrate Women's History Month on the ENMU campus.

"I'm honored to be given this opportunity, especially being a young Navajo woman," said Abigail Curman, the Native American Affairs Assistant. "Being put in charge of organizing and creating our Women's History Month (WHM) 2024 calendar and collaborating with every office in the Multicultural Department led to a calendar of events with inspiring and interesting events that highlight women. It's been an incredible time for acquiring new skills."

"As an Office Assistant, it has been beyond amazing, having the support from my supervisor believing in me to spread this message across campus and the community of Portales," continued Curman. "Our WHM 2024 theme is "Beauty and Healing in Women." Our Multicultural Affairs Office is known for advocating inclusion, diversity, and equity. Our office wants to honor the resilience and magnify the voices of women throughout history who created the society we live in today."
