Hound Handlers



Applications are currently being accepted for the 2013-14 school year. Pick up your application in SAS 142 or download it online. The deadline for submitting your materials is Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 5 p.m.

The Hound Handlers are an important part of the University community and are especially important to the wellbeing of our live mascots, Vic and Tory.  Hound Handlers are responsible for Vic and Tory’s care during school hours.  Each Handler spends at least one hour a day with Vic and Tory and attends University and community events on a regular basis. 

How do I become a Hound Handler?

In order to qualify for membership, you must be enrolled in 12 or more hours, have completed at least 30 credit hours and have a minimum of a 2.5 overall GPA.

Applications are available for pick-up in SAS 142 or online. To be considered as a candidate, your completed application including one letter of reference must be received in SAS 142 Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 5 p.m. Upon receipt of your application, you will be contacted for an interview.

Vic and Tory are two former racing Greyhounds who were welcomed to the ENMU family on Dec. 1, 2009. The pair is quickly becoming the most popular co-eds on campus! The mascots live on-campus with two student roommates in their forever home, an apartment on-campus. These Greyhounds have free reign of the apartment and can often be seen snoozing on one of the roommates beds or on the couch.
