PORTALES, NM – Sept. 23, 2021 – The Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking at Eastern New Mexico University presents a production of "Blithe Spirit," written by Noel Coward and directed by Anne Beck, presented at the University Theatre Center.

The comedy, which is presented in conjunction with this year's Homecoming theme "Coming Back to Life," concerns a novelist who hosts a séance at his home in an effort to come up with material for his next novel. Unfortunately for him, the ghost of his first wife arrives and creates mischief.

"Our show features two freshmen, two seniors, and a new faculty member, Josh Blackwood, who designed the sets, costumes and lights," Beck said. "We welcome our audience back to live theatre!"

Curtain times are nightly from Thursday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m.

General admission tickets are $10. Seniors of 60 years or older and active military admitted for $7. Admission is free for ENMU students with a current ID. The show is live and in-person, with masks required for all audience members. Actors will perform on stage without masks.
